The picture is Delicate Arch in Arches National Park

        Arches National Park

For unimaginable years
Sculptured, engraved, polished by greatest artist,
Nature.

Delicately and skilfully perfected
Arches, domes, bridges, pillars, spires, pinnacles . . .
All imaginable structures stand
While resisting all kinds of threatening natural forces,
Freezing cold, snow, pouring rain, gushing wind, scorching sunbeams, . . .
So that people ever come to spectate.

In South East corner of Utah State,
Among groups of National Parks, Canyonlands National Park, Natural Bridges National Park, Capital Reef National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion National Park
Arches National Park is nested.
Embracing wondrous artful objects.

*Arches National Park is located in South East corner of Utah state enclosing 76,000 acres. In 1929, it was designated as National Monument. It is known for preserving over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, including Delicate Arch.

                          Garden of Late Spring

The air is getting hotter and more humid.
It’s the season when plants like to grow vigorously.

All perennials in the garden prosper,
Daylilies in the full swing, presenting glorious, harmonious color with trumpet shape flowers,
All living creatures are invited to join and enjoy the glory of the nature.

Glistening Sundrops keep blooming everywhere,
While Missouri sundrops boast the glory but short, flourishing only a day
Tho’ in a succession one after another whole summer long.

Early blooming Hosta already shows pale blue trumpet shape flowers
Hanging on slender stems inviting honey bees and bumble bees.

The yellow carpet of Ranunculus is still in full bloom,
Making a wonderful backdrop for all the blooming flowers.
On the corner of a slope, Periwinkles make a nice green carpet
Studded with starlets of tiny blue flowers along with gleaming moon glows.

Delphinium, Caucasia scabiosa, Maltese cross, Potentilla stand wherever best fit in
To decorate the flower garden.
Clumps of Balloon flowers, surrounded by sparkling starlets of creeping sedum,
Adding an exotic mood to the garden.
Shining red Yarrow and gleaming yellow Yarrow make surroundings shiny and gleaming,
Expelling exotic scents.

Later blooming irises are still scattered here and there along the creek,
Conveying God’s message of the wonder of the nature.

Yellow wild daisies add more flavor to the garden,
While prolific obedient flowers pop up everywhere
To make the garden picturesquely colorful.

On the slope, near the rock terrace
Dwarf roses show their glory,
Appearing like drops of blood for the garden of  passion and yearning,
Ornamented by low growing Ajuga and fern.
In the garden of the patio, red and white perennial Hibiscus show their glory along with Hollyhock.

In the water garden,
Provocative Water lilies are showing their glamour
Like nymphs in a paradise lagoon,
Augmented by Marsh marigold, Arrow head.
Tall Cattails, tall grasses are trying to maintain their places,
Fighting against invasive, prolific Loose stripes

Glamourous pompous Peonies in clumps
Over the slope and in the east corner next to the house.
Make a star attraction enhanced by seductive fragrance.
Yucca plants are trying to claim their righteousness in the garden,
Presenting bell-like flowers hanging on cane-like stems.

Creeping ajuga and Primrose
Make a wonderful decoration at the edge of the water cascade,
Supported by white and blue Bell flowers, which are about to toll the tune of wondrous nature.

Robins, Sparrows, Gold finches, Swallows, Mourning doves are constant visitors to the garden,
While Cardinals, Blue jays, Red winged black birds are occasional guests,
Who like to check on once in a while.
Butterflies, honey bees, and bumble bees are permanent residents,
Who enjoy dearly the garden of nature.

Along the bank of the lake, quiet visitor, a Blue heron stands all alone, piercing the lake ponderously,
That makes the surrounding idyllic and pastoral.
All make the nature mythical and wondrous,
Never ceasing to surprise us with new wonders.
